Exporting - it's e-asy when you know how!

Date published: 21 November 2007

Local businesses are being given the chance to find out more about exporting opportunities at an event supported by Rochdale's Economic Partnership this month.

Low cost flights and new technology mean that it's now easier than ever to tap into new markets abroad and the event will show how the internet can be used to research export markets and identify potential new customers to help companies to grow.

The event organised by UK Trade and Investment in the North West promises to be crammed with practical hints and tips.

Cabinet member for regeneration, councillor Mohammed Sharif said: "Over the last decade there's been a massive shift in the way people do business.  It's now just as cheap and easy to hop on a flight to Eurpoe as it is to nip down to London.  This means there are more opportunities than ever for local companies looking to expand their businesses into new markets."

Businesses who attend will hear about the support available from UK Trade and Investment and the Euro Info Centres, from free online information and sales leads to affordable research reports and pre-arranged programmes of meetings when you are overseas. A local company will also explain how it developed its business in Germany through effective research and use of a wide range of support services

The event takes place at the Bower Hotel in Oldham on 28 November, between 8am to 10am. It costs £15 plus VAT to attend, including a buffet breakfast. For more information contact Charles Jacobson:
