GJD received two awards at the BSIA’s Security Business Awards

Date published: 13 July 2017

GJD won two business accolades at the BSIA’s Security Business Awards, which were presented at the BSIA annual luncheon in Covent Garden’s Grand Connaught Rooms on Wednesday 12 July 2017.

The established award scheme recognises and rewards the outstanding contributions made by security personnel, as well as wider commitments of member companies promoting the worldwide reputation of the security industry, improving corporate social responsibility and applying existing solutions in new and innovative ways.

GJD was presented with a special commendation in the BSIA International Partnership Award category for one of its high-end D-TECT Laser projects at an international airport.

GJD’s D-TECT Laser detector range helped to secure a gap above a glass wall in the arrivals area, which in turn stopped people passing items through the gap before entering security. The client was so impressed with the performance of the D-TECT Lasers, they have now fitted more lasers in other areas of the airport.

Greg Stuttle, GJD’s Business Development Manager commented: “We are delighted to see that our work in the export market has been recognised. The commendation in the International Partnership Award Category award has highlighted GJD’s D-TECT Laser detector range, showing an example of a high-end install at an international airport. It showcases the highest levels of laser precision for accurate and reliable intrusion detection.”

GJD was also presented with the Chairman’s Contribution to Export award. Association Chairman, Dirk Wilson presented the award in recognition of GJD’s success in export trade. When it came to judging, the BSIA said: “The calibre of nominations the BSIA received was extremely high and scoring was particularly close at the top, so the GJD team should be really proud of their achievements.”

These accolades continue a successful year for GJD, as the company has also been awarded the Queens Award for Enterprise for International Trade 2017, the UK’s highest accolade for international business success.

Ana Maria Sagra-Smith, GJD’s Sales and Marketing Director commented: “It is a great honour to be presented with two BSIA awards. The awards represent a fantastic achievement for the whole team at GJD and it will further ensure our respected position within the security industry both in the UK and worldwide.”

Th awards ceremony marked the Association’s 50th anniversary and celebrated the achievements of the BSIA over the past five decades. The event also featured a keynote speech from renowned publisher, writer and broadcaster, Andrew Neil.
