Evening of entertainment in aid of 'We love Manchester emergency fund'

Date published: 02 July 2017

An evening of family entertainment and food, in aid of the 'We love Manchester emergency fund', opened with Tom McNeeney from the Oxford reciting his moving poem 'Manchester'.

Local indie band France took to the stage at Cocka Doodle Moo finishing their set off with a performance of Don't look back in anger. Guitarist James Marsh played classic rock before Celtic party band The Scattering closed the night. Magician John Holt was also on hand to entertain the attendees with some brilliant close up magic.

The event was organised by local business networking group 'Rochdale Hour'. Spokesman Damien Maddock said: "Ever since we announced plans to hold a fund raiser the support from the local business community has been uplifting. All the bands offered to perform for free and local businesses Think4, Ryder & Dutton and Molesworths paid for all the food, meaning all the money raised could be donated.

"We plan to now hold annual fund raisers every June."
