Advanced Sports Coaching & Neuro Linguistic Programming comes to Rochdale

Date published: 02 March 2006

Terri Ann Laws, a Rochdale based trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), has organised a one off nine day training course on Advanced Sports Coaching and Advanced NLP Behavioural Modelling in Rochdale.

Sports people, especially those who play professionally, have begun to seek out personal trainers and coaches with Neuro Linguistic Programming skills; especially since Wigan football club employed an NLP practitioner to help them.

Skilled NLPers have been helping people condition themselves for success, anchor resourceful states and communicate for more than three decades, but only in recent years have their skills become publicly well known.

Terri Ann has organised sports people to act as exemplars for Dr. Wyatt Woodsmall PhD who will be leading the training. Dr Woodsmall has worked with best-selling author, motivational speaker and NLP expert Anthony Robbins and the original developers of NLP since 1980, bringing them in to work with him on major modelling projects in the US military.

Dr. Woodsmall designed the nine day Advanced Behavioural Modelling training and has used his skills to coach Olympic athletes, the US diving team and other major internationals.

Terri Ann commenting on the planned course said: "Sports coaching is a growing field of interest and has become increasingly popular since various football clubs, golfers and Olympic teams have used Neuro Linguistic Programming to improve their results".

Terri Ann’s co-organiser is Jim Petruzzi; Jim has worked in many countries with successful people including Olympic athletes, entrepreneurs, premiership footballers, professional golfers and rugby and tennis players over the last ten years.

Adding to Terri Ann's comments, Jim explained: "There are literally hundreds of different models of coaching around and NLP is one of the leading models because it is so fast and effective. NLP teaches you how to model excellence, how to condition the mind and nervous system for success, how to remove emotional, mental and physical blocks and barriers to achievement and how to skilfully use language to motivate, empower and enthuse."
