Doulla Theodorou completes the Vertical Rush for Shelter

Date published: 16 March 2017

Doulla Theodorou completed the grueling ‘Vertical Rush’ up London's Tower 42.

The challenge to race to the top involves climbing up 42 floors and 932 steps, definitely not for the fainthearted.

Doulla, a graphic designer at Heywood-based Logic Wealth Planning completed the 'Rush' in just under 11 minutes, raising £500 for Shelter in the process.

Doulla said: "I did it.

"It was ridiculously tough and gruelling, but I’m so chuffed that I made it to the top in one piece.

"It was so much harder than anticipated, even with the training I had done in recent months – and just as much a mental challenge as it was physical.

"For me, reaching the halfway point was quite hard, as I knew that I had to do it all again to make it to the top.

"It took me 10 minutes and 52 seconds, but the cause was worth every minute.

"The views were stunning when I got to the top, and it helped that it was a beautiful, sunny day in London."
