Deckers puts Royal Toby and Crimble Hall up for sale

The Deckers Group is to sell the the Royal Toby and Crimble Hall in Rochdale and Best Western Pennine Manor Hotel in Huddersfield, with the properties available either individually or as a group.
The Royal Toby, in Castleton, has a guide price of £5.5 million. The property offers 53 bedrooms, with proposed plans for a further 21, plus two restaurants and the purpose built Rhyddings Suite, which can cater for weddings or functions with up to 200 guests. It also features 1.5 acres (0.6 hectares) of land suitable for further development, subject to planning consent.
Crimble Hall is situated in the countryside midway between Rochdale and Heywood and is available at a guide price of £1.95 million. The well-established restaurant sits on a 2.6-acre (1.05-hectare) site and can seat up to 360 diners across its three distinct areas: The Conservatory Restaurant & Grill; The Peacock Room and Fenton’s Lounge.
The 31-bedroom Best Western Pennine Manor Hotel has a guide price of £1.25 million and is located on the outskirts of the village of Scapegoat Hill, near Huddersfield. The property has recently been refurbished and also features the Hilltop Bar & Restaurant with panoramic views, plus four function rooms catering for up to 150 guests.
A spokesperson for Deckers said: “Deckers Hospitality has placed all its restaurants and hotels on the open market, this includes Crimble Hall, Bamford, Rochdale; The Royal Toby Hotel, Castleton, Rochdale and Best Western Pennine Manor Hotel, Huddersfield.
“We are proud of all our venues and colleagues, whom we have informed of this decision prior to releasing sales particulars.
“We have enormous respect and pride for the commitment shown by the whole team, which will continue in the delivery of excellence to all our guests, with business as usual.
“We understand that some of our future guests may have concerns and we would re-assure them that there will be no changes to the business during this process.
“We are equally confident that any prospective buyers will wish to cherish and protect any future bookings as they continue to strive to grow the businesses.
“Any guests can contact our venues directly and we will answer any specific questions or concerns.”
Tom Cunningham, hotels director at Savills, which is handling the sale of the properties, said: “Each of these established hotels and restaurants is well known in its local area and has a strong trading history. With the UK’s regional hotel and leisure market remaining buoyant, we expect them to have wide investor appeal both as a group and individual assets.”
