Janet Blumenthal new President of Rochdale BPW

Date published: 01 February 2006

Janet Blumenthal stepped into the role of President of Rochdale Business & Professional Womens Club for 2006, at the recent Annual General Meeting and brunch, held at the Norton Grange Hotel.

Janet is a local JP and has many interests including travel and bridge, and wants to invite women to join the club.

Since 1938, BPW UK has helped thousands of women across the world to increase their self-confidence and levels of skills, helping them to have more successful careers and achieve positions they never thought possible.

Over the years members have found that belonging to BPW UK has given them the opportunity to choose their level of involvement as their commitments, responsibilities and interests in their life change.

BPW UK is a non-party-political lobbying organisation. It gives members the opportunity to influence the formation of policies to help women and lobbies on behalf of women. Through membership of BPW Europe, it is a member of the European Women’s Lobby, which monitors legislation in the European Parliament for its impact on the lives of women.

BPW UK also works in partnership with various national organisations including the Women’s National Commission (of which BPW was a founder member) and the “Six O” group of the major women’s organisations in this country.

Members from around the world join together in BPW International with one common purpose – to make a difference to the lives of women. With members in almost 100 countries, action in BPW International tends to have a broader perspective. Issues of concern focus on women’s role in the world and the impact of world events on the lives of women.

Membership is open to all working women, in any type of career and at all levels of responsibility. Women on a career break or who are in unpaid work which would normally have a market value are also welcome.

BPW Rochdale is one of the most thriving clubs in the Region. It meets on every 2nd and 4th Wednesday evening at the Norton Grange Hotel. The club organises its programme around the interests of its membership, with  fascinating  guest speakers  and lots of other events, for example  theatre trips, meals out, the annual dinner and fashion events.

BPW Rochdale also provides training and development programmes that are open to all members. The objective is to help women to increase their self-confidence and so to achieve their career and personal goals.

A lively and friendly bunch, that are keen to meet you, the women women of BPW Rochdale invite you to get in touch.
