Supreme Court ruling on Brexit removes uncertainty, says Chamber

Alex Davies, Research Analyst at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, says the Supreme Court’s ruling that Parliament and not ministers must approve the decision for the UK to begin its exit from the European Union "removes some of the uncertainty of the past few months".
Mr Davies said: “Despite being dominated by political tensions, this ruling alone is unlikely to affect either the timeline or the nature of the Brexit process.
"It does however end some of the uncertainty of the past few months, and businesses will now expect the Government to be more pro-active in making its intentions clear.
"The decision that devolved parliaments do not need to be consulted may be difficult news for some, but removes the possibility of a constitutional crisis and another source of unwanted uncertainty for the business community.”
