Walkers Transport in Rochdale, part of Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network, has received a runner up Volume Growth Sales Award from Palletways in recognition of its 2016 year-on-year increase in volumes in the North of the UK.
Richard Simpson, group managing director at Walkers Transport, said: “2016 was a monumental year for us. We invested £1.5m to relocate into new premises and also expanded our fleet across our depots in Rochdale and Leeds and experienced 25 per cent growth at the same time. To receive official recognition for volume growth is testament to our hard working team. This award has set the tone for the year and I know it will come as a great staff motivator as we continue with our ambitious growth plans.”
Dave Walmsley, managing director for Palletways (UK) Ltd, added: “I’d like to thank Walkers Transport for their outstanding sales achievements which are vital to the commercial success of our business.”
Walkers Transport is one of over 100 independent transport providers in the Palletways UK network that share each other’s resources to deliver consignments of palletised freight to market faster and more cost effectively than ever before. The Palletways Group is made up of over 400 depots and 14 hub operations, through which it provides collection and distribution services across 20 European countries, including the UK.
