Comfy Quilts raise £10,000 for Springhill Hospice

Date published: 15 February 2016

When Springy the Hospice frog went along to Comfy Quilts in Middleton last week he was in for a big surprise, a cheque for £10,000.

Staff at both Middleton and Wilmslow depots of bedding manufacturers Comfy Quilts became a fundraising dream for Springhill Hospice, when they chose to support the Rochdale palliative care facility throughout 2015.

Staff from every department got involved not just with their own events but Hospice initiatives too.

Lillie Winterbottom, Springhill’s Community Fundraiser said: “What a fantastic team. When they first got in touch with the fundraising office we had no idea how much involvement the staff would have and also what a staggering amount of money they were going to raise for patient care at the Hospice.

“Not a month would go by without Jane or Debbie getting in touch to tell us of their plans or to register for one of our events. Whether it was the sales team taking on a coast to coast cycle ride or the finance team dressing up for the Santa Dash, they all got involved, raised money and above all enjoyed themselves.

“The support of the local community is overwhelming but it’s not just the amount of money raised but also the huge efforts that people have gone to, all for the Hospice. Thank you to everyone at Comfy Quilts, to the staff, the directors and of course to all those fantastic sponsors.”
