Sysop launches Cyber defence training
IT educator Sysop is launching a new training programme designed to tackle the weak links in business and government’s cyber defences that have still to be addressed – people and process.
Sysop director of professional services Adam Sawle said: “95% of security incidents involve human error. Resisting, responding to and recovering from cyber-attacks depends on the resilience of people and processes as much as technology.”
Sysop will be promoting the new cyber defence courses with two free launch seminars in Manchester (on 4 February) and London (on 5 February), to include cyber incident simulations.
Commenting on the need for the new programme, Mr Sawle explained: “Cyber is an IT space, and IT directors look for technical solutions to provide additional security, but they often give less thought to how their underpinning people and processes support that.”
“The new Resilia™ foundation and practitioner courses are a key addition to our best practice portfolio. They will ensure that all staff involved in that area are fully aware of their responsibility to follow processes and ensure they deliver good practice when protecting their organisation from cyber threats.
"Cyber resilience is not only vital for IT professionals but also for other managers interested in the IT security of their organisation.”
Sysop’s says its best practice courses and workshops, run from its headquarters in Heywood have proved popular with business managers from many industries. Workshops have included major incident and IT service continuity management.
