Rochdale Borough Design Awards 2010

The new sixth form college provides an excellent design solution to a tight and constrained site. The building is contemporary in design but responds positively to adjacent buildings. Coloured screens offering protection from solar gain and a degree of vibrancy.

Inside the generous glazing allows for views of the surrounding townscape and a range of modern facilities are provided. Mixing traditional and modern materials helps to ensure that the building creates its own identity whilst not harming the character and setting of this area.
