Local Election 2012
Central Rochdale Ward
Which parties have run our town for as long as anyone can remember?
Labour and the LibDems, just look at the state of our town, and it is clear they have failed us. Now is the time for real change, we have to stick together, this town deserves better. If we really love Rochdale then we have to work together as a community. For too long councillors have put loyalty to their party above their duty to the public. My promise to you is that if any proposal is not in the best interests of local people, then I will not support such a proposal, and will protest vigourously against it.
The time has come to elect councillors who put people and our town first, not those who are just in it for their own name and fame.
Did you know? It was under the Labour government that our hospital lost its services. People are dying and people are suffering because of this. I am campaigning to bring hospital services back to Rochdale, I recently raised this issue most forcefully with a government cabinet minister as you may have seen in the local media.
Did you know? Labour run Rochdale Council recently gave £126,000 to the Trade Union Unison. Just think how many pot holes we could have repaired with that money!
I want to see Central Rochdale revitalized. We need to create an environment in which small businesses can thrive, and provide the jobs which are so badly needed in our area. There is also a great need for better facilities for both youth and for senior citizens. I am determined to see improvements in Central Ward, and to help me achieve this, I hope you will give me your vote.
Outside politics, I am a local businessman, a broadcaster on Crescent Radio and a qualified cricket and badminton coach.
