This is the first time I have stood for election to Council. I was delighted when Heywood North Councillors Peter Rush and Malcolm Bruce approached me about standing. I have seen the way they have transformed the Heywood North Ward through their hard work and commitment to local politics, something I am hoping to do in Heywood West.
I live locally on Dunfries Walk and I am currently studying English and Journalism at University. I am proud of the area I live in and it surprised me to learn that I am the only candidate at this year’s elections in West Heywood to have the famous OL10 Post Code.
If elected I promise to always put the residents of Heywood West FIRST! Labour has taken our area for granted for too long. It’s time for a change.
