Littleborough Lakeside Ward
I’m John, a born and bred Littleborough man, I went to school here in Littleborough and have worked here for the same textile company for close to 34 years now, I just love Littleborough.
Many of you will know I represented the ward previously for ten years but stepped aside to concentrate more on my daytime work commitments. However, things have eased a little now at work now and once again I feel I can represent the ward, helping you with your concerns when you ring or email me or pop in at one of my monthly surgeries.
During my previous time on the council, I pushed to get the crossing on Church Street near the former banks turned into a puffing crossing, and pushed to get the yellow lines painted down on the main road near Timbercliff Estate as pulling out at that junction was extremely dangerous. I insisted that the surface of the bandstand in the park be concreted instead of the Tarmac that had previously melted on three occasions. I always pushed to keep the bus running over Blackstone Edge. Many potholes were filled in quickly when reported and fly tips were removed in a timely manner, these are just a few small examples and I look forward to doing more of the same again if elected in May.
