Tricia is delighted to have been reselected to stand for Labour and Co-operative in Healey in May 2023. Tricia was born in Rochdale and has lived in Healey Ward since 1981. She has been a Healey Ward Councillor since May 2022 and prior to that has played an active role in the community for many years, She is now a Governor of a local school.

Tricia worked in School Leadership in Special Education in both Rochdale and Oldham for over 30 years and now writes about English Literature and the Brontës in particular.

Since becoming a Councillor she has worked as Assistant Portfolio holder for Climate Change and Environment, leading specifically on Climate Change. In the past year she has worked with community, schools, and stakeholders across the Borough spreading the message of what we can all do to improve and sustain our environment.

Her work in special education and particularly with the families of children with special needs has given her a clear understanding of the challenges faced in terms of access to services and suitable housing provision. She is committed to supporting the residents of Healey, Syke, and Shawclough by working to ensure the safety and security of residents, helping to protect local businesses, developing the local environment, and ensuring that community provision continues to grow and is accessible to all.

Tricia says, "It has been wonderful to meet and work alongside so many Healey residents over the past year and I look forward to continuing to support you for years to come as your Labour and Co-operative Councillor."
