Beverley Place

Labour and Co-operative Party
North Heywood Ward

Bev Place is delighted to have been selected to stand for the Labour and Co-operative Party in North Heywood in the forthcoming local elections in May 2023. She has been a Councillor since 2022 and has lived in Heywood since 2002. She has played an extremely active role in both Heywood and Rochdale for many years and is now a Governor at Harwood Park Primary School.

Bev is happily married with a son who is now aged 22, who went through Nursery, Primary School and Secondary School education in Heywood and has played various sports at many local Junior Clubs and sporting locations.

Bev has performed the role of Assistant Portfolio Holder for Health over the last 12 months and is a Governor of the Northern Care Alliance. She has worked to link Health better with the Voluntary sector to enable improved health outcomes for those most affected by health inequalities.

Bev’s career has been spent in Rochdale and she has worked in an array of settings including post-16 training, the Local Authority’s Education Department and is currently the Deputy CEO at a local Charity, Rochdale Connections Trust, that serves the most vulnerable residents in the most deprived communities across the Borough. As a result, she possesses a clear understanding of the socio-economic disadvantages many residents are adversely affected by and is able to navigate the help and support that is in place to best help. Indeed, she is passionate about making a difference and providing access to opportunity for all, particularly the residents of North Heywood.

Bev says, “I have been honoured to meet and work alongside so many people in North Heywood over the last 12 months and I look forward to continuing to do so as your Labour and Co-operative Councillor for many years to come.
