Focus on Norden: PC Sarah Firth

Date published: 21 January 2011

PC Sarah Firth, 30, has been a police officer for 10 years. She has worked on the Norden Neighbourhood Policing Team for 4 years.

Before joining the police, PC Firth studied Ethics at university and was awarded a 2:1, she also worked part time as an optical advisor at Boots Opticians.

PC Firth explains why she joined the police: “I joined the police as I wanted to do a job which was exciting, where no day was the same. Being in the police meant I could work in the public and protect people and in some small way maybe make a difference to peoples’ lives.”

PC Firth added: “Since being a police officer I have been involved in a number of warrants that have resulted in over a million pounds worth of drugs being recovered many of which have led to lengthy custodial sentences for offenders.”

When she isn’t working PC Firth enjoys spending time with her family, eating out and shopping.

PC Firth said her favourite thing about Norden is the people and having the opportunity to be part of their community life.
