Ex-Huddersfield man keen on Rochdale move
Date published: 13 June 2008
Former Huddersfield Town midfielder Matt Young is hoping to earn a contract at Rochdale. The 22 year old has been on trial at Spotland and is hoping to extend his stay with the club when he joins up with them for pre-season training.
The League Two play-off finalists wanted to sign Young on loan at the back end of the season but the switch was cancelled when he broke a rib in training.
New Huddersfield boss Stan Ternent released Young this summer and he is hoping to resurrect his career at Rochdale following a series of injuries. A groin problem and then the rib injury meant he made only four starts for Huddersfield last season
Young told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner: "Rochdale are a progressive club who were unlucky to lose out to Stockport in the play-off final.
"I liked what I saw during my earlier spell there, and I would have loved the chance to play for them on loan, but it wasn't to be."
