No ‘putting’ Serena down as she wins praise at sports awards

Serena Bradshaw, took third place in the Disabled Sports Achiever of the Year
Serena Bradshaw, 17, came third in the Disabled Sports Achiever of the Year category at the 2014 Greater Manchester Sports Awards for her shot-put and javelin skills.
Serena, a student at Hopwood Hall College, was nominated for the award having shown incredible prowess in her chosen sports.
She is already the under-18s National Champion in both shot-put and javelin.
As well as this, Serena has also completed in the Mencap National Championships, where she won silver in the shot-put and bronze in the 100m and javelin, and is also the Disability Sports Events (DSE) 2014 National Junior Athletics Champion in the shot-put and javelin.
Terry Morley, Centre Director for Sport and Public Services, said: “Serena is a fantastic student who always gives 100%.
"She is a true role model for other young athletes, and we are delighted that she’s been recognised for this talent.”
