Gary Brown released

Young full back/midfielder Gary Brown has now left the Rochdale Football Club - his contract has not been renewed.

A tigerish little player, who came through the youth team originally as a midfield player, Brown suffered a serious cruciate ligament injury in pre-season last year and as a result did not feature in the side during the season just completed.

The Darwen born 22-year-old made his first team debut at Boston in May 2005 and went on to make a total of 43 appearances in Dale colours.

A club spokesman said: "Everyone at the club would like to wish Gary well in the future and to thank him not only for his service but for his attitude, determination and emeanour. Always thoroughly pleasant and polite he will be missed."
