O'Connell returns to Spotland
Date published: 01 September 2014
Jack O’Connell has returned to Spotland, subject to clearance from the Football League.
The 20-year-old has joined Dale on loan from Blackburn Rovers until January.
The defender spent last season on loan at Spotland and was an ever present figure in Dale’s promotion winning side, making 45 appearances in all competitions. He earned many plaudits for his performances.
O’Connell has made one appearance for Rovers’ first team this season after starting against Scunthorpe United in the first round of the Capital One Cup. He was on the bench for the Championship side in their match against Wolves at the weekend.
