Jon Henderson appointed captain at Rochdale Cricket Club
Date published: 23 August 2014
Jon Henderson has been appointed captain for the 2015 season at Rochdale Cricket Club following Daz Cryer signalling his intention to step down.
This follows the re-engagement of Wes Landsdale as the professional for next summer.
Henderson, who returned to Rochdale this season after spells at Todmorden and Littleborough, captained the club successfully for four seasons in the early noughties during which time they won six trophies including two CLL titles.
Rochdale chairman, Mark Reynolds is delighted to have resolved next summer’s two main playing issues early.
He said: “Once Daz had decided to step down we felt that everything had to be in place to formulate next year’s strategy over the winter.
“For one reason or another we lost a number of players before this season started and as a consequence it has been a bit of a struggle, but we intend to start next season on the front foot.”
