Russell rewarded with Dale deal

Rochdale goalkeeper Sam Russell has signed a contract to keep him at the club until the end of the season.

The former Darlington player has become a regular at Spotland after originally joining on non-contract terms.

Manager Keith Hill said: "It is great news. Sam has really earned his opportunities at this football club.

"He has a great rivalry for the position with James Spencer and I truly believe that the two of them are as a good a pair as any in our league."
