Do you have a couple of hours per week to spare?
Date published: 03 June 2014
Wardle Football Club is on the look out for a suitable individual(s) who may have a couple of hours per week to spare, helping prepare and maintain their sports pitches.
The club is a community based sports club run by a volunteer committee who provide access to adult and junior football.
Due to increased demand on facilities, they are looking for a person(s) to assist thier head groundsman with his duties. They also have ambitious plans for a re-model of the existing site, to accommodate a second full size pitch and the building of a new clubhouse and are in the process of putting these plans into action.
A general list of the duties needing to be undertaken include:
- Grass cutting
- Repair of playing surfaces
- Marking out pitches
- Sanding, top soiling and re-seeding problem areas
- Reporting low stock levels to head groundsman
- Assisting in keeping the general areas tidy
- Assisting in the renovation works during closed season
The club has access to ground keeping equipment and a small budget for the purchase of supplies.
A club spokesman said: "We are looking for a person(s) who doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty, is reliable and takes pride in a job well done. The role would be ideal for a retired person who has time free during the week but anybody who feels they can help us is encouraged to contact us about the role."
Any expressions of interest can be made to either:
David Moore club secretary 07968 912654 or Richard Fielding club chairman 07759 127135.
