The Rochdale Online Alliance Football League’s Alletson & Mitchell Memorial Trophy Final takes place on Friday evening at  Mayfield Sports Centre, Keswick Street, Castleton.

Matthew Montgomery & Co Division 1 sides Rochdale Asia and Mighty Dragons contest a final that kicks off at 7.00pm.

Both sides have enjoyed success this season with Rochdale Asia re-grouping after relegation to finish third in the league with 50 points from 22 games, and the distinction of being the only side this season to inflict defeat upon double winners Fothergill & Whittles 2nds.

Mighty Dragons are finishing their first season in open age football strongly with nine wins from their last twelve games, testimony to the significant progress they have made since their 11-4 defeat to Rochdale Asia in the President’s Cup back in October.

All Division 1 sides enter the A&M Trophy following their exit from the President’s Cup, and Rochdale Asia joined Dragons following their 3-1 second round exit to F&W Rovers.

In the A&M Dragons have had arguably the more difficult route to the final in overcoming Whitworth Valley 2nds, 3-1 at Rawstron Street, and Hargreaves 5-1 in the semi final, with four goals from Mike Cahill.

Meanwhile, Rochdale Asia defeated Horse & Farrier 3-0 and Chadderton Park 4-1 in the first of the semi finals at Firgrove.

With honours even in their two league meetings a close contest is expected and admission prices are £2 for adults and £1 for children & OAPs, with refreshments available.

Players, officials and spectators are asked to use the Heywood Road access to the ground as the Keswick Street entrance is currently closed.
