Salpietro century leads Norden to victory over Clifton

Daniel Salpietro followed up his century of opening weekend in the Lake Garage Central Lancashire League with an unbeaten knock of 124 against Clifton on Sunday. 

Clifton rattled up 234 for four at Stag Park, Callum Parkinson leading the way with 105.

At one stage in their reply Norden were 78 for four, but Salpietro and Harvey Fitton (60) saw them to the brink of victory.

Norden eventually reached their target with five wickets down and 10 balls to spare.

Norden seconds were also winners.

Greg Tattersall (48) and Paul Morrell (40) were top scorers in a total of 233 for seven.
Clifton were restricted to 186 for seven in reply.

Star with the ball was Dom Humphreys who took three for eight in eight overs.

Adam Ahmed hit an unbeaten 54 as Norden thirds beat Rastrick by one wicket in a Halifax League cup tie.

Mo Waheed had earlier taken four for nine as Rastrick had closed on 121 for nine.
