Heywood youth football team thanks new sponsor Persimmon Homes

A junior football team is riding high after a stunning start to the season - and sporting a striking kit thanks to new sponsors Persimmon Homes North West.

Roach Dynamos Blacks U12s, made up of 11 year olds in their first year at senior school, have the developer’s logo emblazoned across the front of their orange shirts.

Currently in their third season playing together, they are so far unbeaten – seven wins from seven.

The lads train and play in Heywood, adjacent to the new Persimmon Homes development at Fairfield View on Sutherland Drive.

Dynamos manager Steve Cloran said the partnership between the team and the house builder couldn’t be more perfect.

Steve said: “We play right next to Fairfield View, so Persimmon were just such an obvious choice as a sponsor and hopefully the new development will be a source of talent for the team in the coming years.

“We are proud to have such a quality company as our kit sponsor and couldn’t be more grateful and I’m sure some of our players will turn out to be the Persimmon home owners of the future.”

Club treasurer Debbie Wright added: “As kit co-ordinator, I cannot stress enough how grateful the club is to receive a sponsorship from a local company like this. We are a self-funded club and rely heavily on businesses to sponsor new kits for our 18 teams.

“Football plays a big part of these children's lives and we strive to make it enjoyable as well as a way of keeping fit. Thanks to Persimmon, our boys look like true professionals in their new kits.”

David Hodgson, sales director of Persimmon Homes North West said: “We take great pleasure in working with the local community wherever we build, and the lads certainly look the part in their new kit.

“What a great start to the season they’ve had – let’s hope it continues.”
