Rochdale Cobras u15 22 - 12 Liverpool Lions u15
Rochdale Cobras u15s put in a dazzling display to beat league leaders, Liverpool Lions.

From the off the Lions forwards were ploughing through the middle only to be met by the finest defensive display the Cobras have displayed all season .

As frustration set in for Lions, Cobras took full advantage turning defence into attack putting the Lions full back under massive pressure only for him to fumble. A cheeky gamble for Leonard paid off as he picked up and ran the ball in for the first score.

Cobras again made good ground through the middle and smart play from Dawson and McDaid set up Simpson for the second score.

For the next 10 minutes both teams going for it and a lot of dropped ball meant possession changed hands many times, but Cobras turned the ball over, with an ever improving display from Wheelhouse and Kirkham forcing the error and a quick play saw the ball out wide for Tetlow to score in the corner.

Half Time: Cobras 14 - 0 Lions

The second half began as the first, Cobras putting pressure on the Lions big forwards, but Lions made it very difficult with some fine attacking play. Cobras, digging deep, managed to hold them centre field to again turn over the ball.

On the next set of six Cobras opted for an early kick to the corner, catching Lions flat and the ball to bounced straight to Leonard for his second of the game.

With the clock ticking down and Cobras, pressing winning penalty after penalty, had good opportunity to test out Lions resilience but some sloppy play by Cobras saw their opponents pick their pockets for a full length score.

Lions pushed again only to give away a penalty under their own sticks which Lions converted.

Although beaten, Lions never gave up and with only 30 seconds left a high bomb to the corner saw the Lions get their second score.
