Hornets rout of Gloucestershire All Golds in their last league game of the season gave them third place in the table and a place in the play offs against London Skolars at Spotland next Sunday.

The gulf in class between a rampant Hornets side and bottom of the table All Golds was huge and the game was already over following three tries - Danny Davis, Dave Llewelyn and Gaz Langley - within ten minutes of the start.

Hornets domination continued and Llewelyn went over for his second followed by Greenwood, who was far too strong for the All Golds defenders.

To finish the half a sweet pass from Crook allowed Danny Davis to ghost over for his second try.

Crook converted each attempt to give Hornets a commanding 42 - 0 lead at half time.

Brad Hepi's very vocal half time team talk has the desired effect as the start of the second half saw All Golds finally spring into action with two converted tries.

That was as much as they could muster before Hornets began to dominate possession and territory again and ran in a further six tries, all converted by Crook to give him a superb 100% success rate.

Chris Hough started the Hornets second half try scoring when he suckered a static All Golds defence.

Carl Forster powered over from an inside pass before Martin Waring went over.

A great break by Carl Forster put the 'Thunderbolt from Kirkholt', Wayne English in and Cookson dived over from acting half back to complete the scoring.
