Cricket: Cross wades Into Aussies

Date published: 07 August 2013

Heywood’s England star Kathryn Cross turned in the performance of her young career so far.

Cross, 21, took 4-30 off 11 overs against a star-studded Australia team for England A at Radlett CC in an Ashes warm-up clash.

All the victims were caught behind by wicket-keeper Amy Jones. Cross accounted for the Australians’ top batter Meg Lanning, as well as fellow top-order batters Sarah Elliott and the Aussie skipper Jodie Fields.

The Aussies finished the day on 270-7.

The match finished on 6 August and Cross has certainly laid down a marker for the months ahead.
