Date published: 07 August 2013
Middleton's Honourary Club Secretary, Elaine Roydes was nominated for the Behind the Scenes Award at the Lancashire Cricket Board's Outstanding Services to Cricket Awards (OSCA) at The Point at Old Trafford.
The award that recognises all the work that the individual does to keep the club going, the positive impact the individuals actions have on the club's development and growth and above all, the dedication of time and effort towards the club and for the sake of it's members.
Elaine, who was up against John Lawrence of Orrell Red Triangle CC and Paul Davies of Whalley Range CC, won the award as the judges felt that she excelled in all the requirements for the award, be it from doing the players' and sponsors meals on match days, to doing the bar on a Wednesday night, they felt that her efforts had the 'wow' factor.
