Heywood CC first team captain, Bobby Cross, was honoured at the Lancashire Cricket Board’s Outstanding Service to Cricket Awards (OSCAs).
Cross, 30, who has been the driving force behind the club’s successful Natwest CricketForce days and submissions for funding and new facilities – including the all-weather nets – received a Special Recognition award at the hugely successful event.
As well as his work for Heywood, Cross has scored more than 10,000 runs for the club in the CLL, has won the Frank Worrell Trophy an incredible six times and has scored 14 CLL and Wood Cup centuries.
He is also one of the coaches responsible for the Lancashire Under-13s side.
Last year at the awards, Heywood won the NatWest CricketForce award for 2012, and went on to represent Lancashire at the national OSCAs in London.
