Middleton Cricket Club
Middleton Cricket Club had a disappointing week with the Under 11s losing against Littleborough and the Under 15s game at home to Crompton being called off due to the rain.
The Middleton under 11s won the toss and put their opponents from Littleborough into bat.
Littleborough were on the ball taking plenty of singles and each of the first three pairs getting a couple of fours.
Ben was the first to get some wickets in the 12th over taking two consecutive wickets. Tom followed his lead in the next over with another wicket.
But the score was held back from hitting 300 in the last three overs by Griffin and Harry. Harry took his first in 18th followed by Griffin taking one in the 19th but Harry was the star of the bowling taking three wickets in the last over holding Littleborough back to 261.
Middleton's innings with the bat was held up by extremely tight bowling from Littleborough. Every boundary was seemingly followed by a wicket, pegging back the score. Despite some great shots at various points in the innings the Middleton lads were held back to just 221.
