Winning ways continue for swimming club

Swimmers from Rochdale Swimming Club competed in the Central Lancs Championships on Sunday 919 June) in Bury. The championships are held each year to find the best swimmers from all the swimming clubs within 20 miles of Rochdale.

Rochdale Swimming Club’s swimmers had one of the most successful meets for many years, with Rochdale’s Golden girl Isabel larder leading the way with 2 Gold’s, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze.

Isobel was head and shoulders above the field winning Gold in the 10y girls 50m freestyle in 35.45, Gold in the 50m backstroke in 41.37, Silver in the 50m breaststroke in 48.57 and Bronze in the 50m butterfly in 43.78.

Blake Wilson brought home the silverware winning Gold in the open 100m breaststroke championships for a record 4th year in a row, in a time of 1:12.41. Blake then stormed to victory in the open 50m Freestyle championships, winning Gold in a time of 25.80.

Eilish Kenny pocketed the Silver medal in the girls 14y 50m Breaststroke in a personal best time of 40.51s.

Personal best performances were also recorded by Matthew lees, Josh Ho, Toni Ellis, Molly Kenny, Philippa Lord, Rebecka Crossley and Vicky Cumiskey.
