Date published: 23 May 2011
Tributes have been paid to a rugby stalwart from Littleborough.
Mick Keegan, who died suddenly, has been described as “Mr Rugby League.”
Mr Keegan, 58, had been involved with Littleborough Rugby Club for over 20 years.
Ian Kershaw from Mayfield Rugby Club said: “He was one of the nicest men in rugby league, not just locally but in general.
“I played at Littleborough with Mick in the early 90’s and then under him as a coach, he had a great enthusiasm for the game and for the people involved.
“With never a bad word for anyone and always a smile on his face Mick Keegan will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
“When we learned of his death last week at Mayfield we were totally shocked and the heartfelt thoughts of all at the club are with Mick’s family.”
