Rochdale v Barnet - Match postponed

Date published: 05 February 2008

Rochdale's home game against Barnet, scheduled for this evening (7.45pm), has been called off. Dale captain Gary Jones will have to wait until Saturday's trip to Lincoln to start his 300th league game for the club. The game has been postponed because parts of the pitch are waterlogged.

The Spotland pitch was used twice over the weekend as the football club entertained Peterborough on Saturday and Rochdale Hornets hosted Salford City Reds on Sunday.

Match referee Mr Hall concluded that an area of the pitch near the Sandy Lane End of the ground was unsafe for play and called the game off.

Results to Watch

There are only two other games in League Two this evening. Stockport are the closest side to Rochdale, just two positions below them in the league, but they can not overtake them even if they beat Bury at Gigg Lane. The main interest tonight is at the foot of the table with Bury in trouble just two points above the drop zone, while fellow strugglers Macclesfield and Lincoln face each other at Moss Rose.
