Date published: 26 May 2010

The second annual Rochdale Swarm International Mixed Tag Rugby League Festival is now the largest adult Rugby League Festival in Europe, with participants flying in from Paris, Nice, Geneva, Cyprus, Dublin and Dussledorf to take part against teams from Loch Lomond in Scotland, Bridgend in Wales, London, Widnes, Wakefield, Leeds, Dewsbury, Warrington, Bradford amoungst others and not forgetting an impressive 8 teams from Rochdale.

There will be a real Festival feel with attractions, bars, stalls and exhibitions to supplement the Rugby League actions.

This year the Rochdale Swarm have worked closely with Link4Life, The RFL and Hornets RL to make the Festival an even bigger and better event.

There will be several special guests with Hornets Head Coach, John Stankevitch being on hand to present the awards to the successful teams.

On the Sunday there will be a European Tag Challenge, with teams representing France, England, Scotland and Wales playing off to be the crowned as Tag Rugby League Champs of Europe.

After the Festival there will be a 6 week Rochdale Tag Rugby League Competition to service the increased demand for this non-contact version of Rugby League in the Town.

The Festival kicks off on the Friday night with the main competition taking place from 1.00pm on the Saturday 29 May, at the Rakewood Sports Centre, Littleborough.
