Hornets Community Development Update

Rochdale Hornets has appointed Darren Rogers as Community Development Officer. Mr Rogers is an ex Super League player and was part of the England 2000 squad who take part in the World Cup. He comes with the level three coaching certificate which is the highest that can be awarded by the RFL.
One of Mr Rogers key focus will be the Hornets participation in the Schools for Fitness programme. He has already had positive discussions with both Matthew Moss and Middleton Tech with a view to developing positive relationships with Hornets.

Playing Squad Sponsorship 2007 season
Hornets are still some way off achieving their goal of every playing squad number having a sponsor the following numbers have now been sponsored:

Both players and coaching staff have voiced their appreciation of what is an invaluable way of supporting the club.
The price for the season is pound;175.00 ndash; the package includes the following ndash; Squad Shirt at the end of the season, a signed letter of thanks from Darren Abram and mentions in the club programme and over the tanoy on match days.

For this special match Hornets has announced the following ticket prices:

Meet the Players
Hornets have arranged several events for 2007, the first up is on Sunday the 21 January after the Warrington Match, meet the player’s.
Darren Abram will introduce the new squad who in turn will say a word about their colleagues.
The introductions will commence around 6.00pm in the Motorama Lounge, the event is open to all those who attended Sunday’s match.
Sponsored Walk for Leukaemia
Hornets have been invited to join the Swinton Lions annual sponsored walk in aid of Leukaemia Research. The walk will take place on Sunday 25 February. The start is planned as 9.00am it is expected that the walk will take about 3 hours.
Darren Abram has confirmed that at least two Hornets players will be taking part in this worthy cause. The players are aiming to raise pound;100 each for this worthy cause.

Hornets Quiz Night
Tuesday 27 of February at the Red Lion, Whitworth is Hornets quiz night. The Red Lion were also big supporters of Hornets Curry Night.
Entry is pound;5 per team of four, the pub is laying on food, there will also be a raffle and all profit from the night goes to Hornets.
