Rochdale Hornets RLFC first home match of the season

Everyone is very excited about the first home match of the season, this Sunday 18 February against Batley Bulldogs. The club shop will be open from midday to make your pre-match purchases.

Commercial UpdateCommercially behind the scenes work has continued to retain traditional sponsors and to also attract new supporters and sponsors of the club. We have set ourselves the goal of having every home league match with 4 sponsors; Main Match and Associate Sponsors, Match Ball and Champagne Moment.

We are 90% of the way to achieving our goal ndash; thank you to all those individuals and companies that have committed support so far. It is still not too late to get involved. We are still looking for an Associate Match Sponsor at 4 of our matches these include WIDNES AND DEWSBURY ndash; which will be televised live on Sky. Anyone wishing to help us with this please come and see Karen Reynolds on match days or call Karen on 01706 712388.

Community Update
Darren Rogers has now been in post as Hornets Community Development Officer for just over a month.

The progress has been tremendous. Darren has successfully organised an intensive five week coaching programme which will end with a festival that all the participating schools will take part in. The feedback from the teachers and the children has been GREAT! 2007 SEASON TICKETS AND CAR PARKING PASSES. These are now available for collection from the club ndash; please call beforehand on 648004.

Sponsored Walk for Leukaemia
Hornets have been invited to join the Swinton Lions annual sponsored walk in aid of Leukaemia Research. The walk will take place on Sunday 25 February. The start is planned as 9.00am it is expected that the walk will take about 3 hours.
Darren Abram has confirmed that at least two Hornets players will be taking part in this worthy cause. The players are aiming to raise pound;100 each for this worthy cause.

Hornets Quiz NightIt looks like the quiz will be another great night with lots of teams already entered. The event itself starts at 8.00pm at The Red Lion, in Whitworth Square on Tuesday 27 February. There will be prizes for the winning team, the Red Lion is laying on some food, and there will also be the usual raffle etc. Come along on the night, its pound;5 for a team of up to 4 members, only rule is no team member can be a laptop with wireless internet connection!
