Wilcox Leaves Spotland

Date published: 01 June 2007

Rochdale Football Club Youth Team boss Chris Wilcox has officially left Spotland to take the managers job at Woodley Sports. The 37-year-old former Altrincham, Leigh RMI and Mossley player joined the Unibond side last week vacating his position as youth team manager.

Dale's Chief Executive Colin Garlick admitted he was disappointed to lose Chris but knew he couldn't stand in the way of ambition. He said: "Chris leaves us to take up a managerial position and whilst we are very disappointed to see him leave us, we all wish him well. He's an ambitious man and the opportunity presented itself so he took it and you cannot fault him for that.

"However, we will move on and begin our search for a replacement."
