Copperpot on for clean sweep as Club do the double

Copperpot regained the Rochdale amp; District Sunday Football League title on Thursday 17 May with a comfortable 6-1 win against Birches. That win took them above long term division leaders Success to the Plough for the first but decisive time as it was the last game of the league season.

Copperpot are already through to the final of the main cup competition, the Rochdale Online League Cup, where they will be firm favourites to beat a Bamford H&H team that has excelled to get to the final having come bottom of the Premier Division with just two wins all season.

To add to what has become a very successful season even by Copperpot standards, this morning (Sunday 20 May) Copperpot beat Milton in the semi final of their divisional cup competition, the Chris Shyne Trophy, to reach the final against Littleborough next Sunday (27 May) at Bowlee.

Catholic Club completed a league and cup double this morning, having already won their divisional title, they beat North Star 4-2 in the first of the divisional cup finals being played over the next nine days.

Rochdale Under 21 Inter-League side are also in action this coming week as they take on Eccles League Under 21 in the final of the Manchester Inter-League Competition. Eccles beat Rochdale in the competition last season and hence manager Phil Crowther said: "We are out to avenge last season's defeat."

The game is being played on Tuesday 22 May at Bowlee, Middleton, kick off 6.30pm.
