Lambert sale to bring cash to Dale

Former Rochdale striker Rickie Lambert, now at Bristol Rovers, has been linked with a number of clubs in recent weeks and if he is sold, Dale will be set for a large cash windfall.

When Dale sold Lambert to Rovers for £200,000 in 2006 it is believed that there was a 25% sell on clause included in the deal; so the Spotland club would profit from any future sale.

Lambert has today been linked with another move away from Bristol, with Peterborough United the latest club to show an interest in the striker.

The figures being banded around for Lambert's signature are over £1 million, so Dale are set to more than double the fee that they originally received for the popular scouser, who hit 29 goals for Bristol Rovers this season.
