Rochdale need one point from their remaining two league games to confirm a place in the end of season play-offs following last night's results in League Two.
Morecambe's defeat at Rotherham means that they are now unable to catch Dale, with Keith Hill's men currently in sixth, four points above Shrewsbury in eighth.
Dagenham and Redbridge's win at home to league leader's Brentford last night boosted them into the final play-off position, above Shrewsbury on goal difference. Dagenham play Shrewsbury on the last day of the season, so if both sides win their games this weekend and then draw when they play each other, they would finish on 69 points.
That permutation would knock Dale out of the play-offs on goal difference if Dale were to lose both of their remaining games, away at Luton and at home to Gillingham.
Chesterfield are also in with an outside chance of overtaking Dale but must win both of their last two games.
