Rochdale AFC mascot Desmond the Dragon has received a special invitation to attend Old Trafford cricket ground this Sunday 15 July.

Dale Supporters Trust have recently built up close links with Lancashire County Cricket Club, which saw mascot Lanky the Giraffe visit Spotland for last season's home game (v Macclesfield Town).

Desmond will be warming up for the big kick-off next month, by visiting Old Trafford as Lancashire Lightning begin their Nat West Pro40 campaign at home to Essex Eagles (1.45pm).

Dale mascot 'Desmond the Dragon' will be getting involved in the pre-match fun with his new mate 'Lanky the Giraffe' and even a batting/bowling competition during the interval. The two furry mascots are looking forward to meeting Dale Dragons and Thunderbolts in the stadium. Don't forget to wear your Dale colours and take your autograph books.

If you would like to watch Desmond and Lanky in action at Old Trafford, then there is a special discount offer for advance bookings. If match tickets are purchased in advance they are £9 for adults, £5 for juniors and senior citizens or £23 for a family ticket (2 adult; 2 juniors). For tickets call 0870 062 50 50.

Alternatively, if tickets are purchased on the day they are £13 for adults; £7 juniors/senior citizens, family tickets n/a.
