Super League opposition for Hornets in cup
Date published: 08 April 2009
It may not be the glamour tie that Hornets fans would have been hoping for but the minnows have at least drawn Super League opposition in the fifth-round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup.
The club would have been hoping for a money-spinning fixture against the likes of St Helens or Wigan but the Huddersfield game still presents a chance for Darren Shaw's underdogs to test themselves against Super League opposition and the club should also benefit financially.
Hornets are the lowest placed side left in the competition, bottom of the Co-operative Championship One, and it will be an uphill task for them to reach the last eight against a Huddersfield side that sit third in the Super League having won five of their first seven games.
Hornets will travel to the Galpharm Stadium on the weekend of 9-10 May.
