Winger Nicky Adams has finished his loan spell with Rochdale and returned to League One leaders Leicester City.

The former Bury man spent two months at Spotland and Keith Hill tried to extend his stay for a final month but the Foxes want him back at the Walkers Stadium for the remainder of the season.

Adams scored on his Dale debut in the 3-2 defeat at Dagenham and made a total of 14 appearances in helping Dale into the League Two automatic promotion places. He played his last game for the club in Saturday's memorable win over fellow promotion chasers Wycombe.
