Dale bring in Carlisle's Madine
Date published: 20 March 2009
Rochdale manager Keith Hill has moved quickly to replace striker Lee McEvilly by bringing in 18-year old Gary Madine on loan from Carlisle.
Dale released McEvilly on loan to Barrow yesterday and have brought in Madine to work alongside Adam Le Fondre, Lee Thorpe and Chris Dagnall, who is available for tomorrow's game at Wycombe after serving a three match suspension.
Madine is hoping to get a few first team games under his belt during his time at Spotland. "I'm hoping to learn while I'm here from good experienced players like Lee Thorpe," said the youngster.
Madine came through the ranks at Carlisle to sign his first professional contract last summer, but first team chances have been limited.
He has started just four games for the Brunton Park club but made a further 28 appearances as a substitute since making his Carlisle debut just over a year ago.
