Rochdalians made easy work of beating Uniques in the latest round of matches in the Indoor Cricket League at Matthew Moss School, dismissing Uniques for a paltry 37, with a fine bowling display from skipper Amir, who took three wickets for just four runs.
Uniques cause was not helped by four suicidal run outs and Dalians completed their win in the 5th over for the loss of four wickets to move within one point of the league leaders.
8-Stars again enjoyed a good win against All-stars with Shakir continuing his good form with the bat with 40 not out and well supported by Iqbal, 24, to reach 109 from their 10 overs. All-stars skipper Bukhari made an excellent 33, ably supported by Gufran, 16, but eventually All-stars fell short by 12 runs.
Rycc stay in top position after a hard fought win against Punjab. Qaiser 21 and Qayum 19 were the mainstays for Rycc as they totalled 118. Dar 3-16 and Zubair 2-20 bowled well to contain the opposition and for Punjab power hitting from Dar 24 and Butt 17 took them close but Qaiser 2-8 and Naeem 2-16 kept them in check to ensure a 19 run win for Rycc.
In the Legends League, Masters won the toss and batted first, but after an excellent opening partnership of 47 by Shahid 24 and Saleem 23, their batting fell away with excellent fielding by Legends, which contributed to five run outs and also catch of the season so far by Nado, Masters only reached 77 runs.
Legends batting struggled against the bowling of Masters and wickets kept tumbling but Legends batsman Ali kept up the fight with a superb 26 not out to guide his team to victory against the previously unbeaten Masters with two balls to spare.
Seniors, batting first, reached 83 mainly thanks to Archie's knock of 33. For Veterans Talat 2-16 was the main bowler and it was Talat who hit an explosive 26 to guide his team to a win in the last over.
