Pupils from Cardinal Langley celebrate their victory at the Springhill athletics competition.
Springhill High School hosted another Sportshall Athletics event last week, with pupils from Rochdale Secondary Schools taking part in an indoor mini-Olympics.
Eleven Secondary schools from the borough entered the new event for Year Seven pupils.
More than 150 athletes took part in various Sportshall Athletics events including Javelin and Standing Triple Jump.
Twenty new young volunteers and more than 50 parents and teachers were in attendance to boost the atmosphere throughout the evening.
Competition was fierce throughout the event with first place eventually awarded to Cardinal Langley Sports College.
Link4Life Staff and organisers, Donna Stott and Lindsey Sutch, said: "It has been a brilliant evening that has been enjoyed by all. It has been a great event to promote the athletics work that is going on in the borough and hopefully will become another of our annual events."
